Due piccoli dipinti 15 x 15 cm... forse daranno vita a due nuove serie!
Nel primo gli alberi si affacciano lungo un torrente, con la luce del tramonto che attraversa le foglie e ne trasfigura i colori e i riflessi nell'acqua.
Un dipinto che richiama gli ultimi giorni d'estate, e le passeggiate in campagna nel tardo pomeriggio... quando i giorni avevano ritmi più lenti, e questi piaceri erano ancora possibili.
Forse è l'inizio di una nuova serie di dipinti, centrata sul rapporto tra gli alberi e l'acqua (in parte già esplorato nella serie Vie d'acqua), e che vorrei intitolare Lungo le sponde.
Il secondo dipinto è un ritorno ad un mio vecchio amore: la frutta.
Mi piace il cromatismo dei frutti e la varietà delle loro forme.
Mi arrischio a dire che preferisco dipingere la frutta che i fiori: forse perché sono più congeniali al mio bisogno di colori forti e di texture, e rispondono meglio alle mie tecniche di stesura del colore.
Questo è un tentativo più impressionistico rispetto alla frutta che ho dipinto in passato.
Un gioco, per il momento: poi vedremo se anche da questo potrà nascere una nuova serie.

Two small paintings 15 x 15 cm... perhaps they will give birth to two new series!
In the first painting, the trees overlook along a stream, and the sunset light transfigures colors and reflections in the water.
A painting that recalls the last days of summer, and the walks in the countryside in the late afternoon... when the days had a slower pace, and these pleasures were still possible.
Maybe this painting is the beginning of a new series of paintings, centered on the relationship between trees and water (already explored in the series Vie d'acqua - Waterways) , and that I'd like to entitle Lungo le sponde (Along the banks).
The second painting is a return to an old love of mine: the fruits.
I like the colors of fruits and the variety of their forms.
I dare to say that I prefer to paint fruits than flowers, perhaps because they are more congenial to my need for strong colors and textures, and they are better suited to my techniques.
This is a more impressionistic attempt than the fruits that I painted in the past.
A pastime, for the moment: then I'll see if this can give rise to a new series.
